Licensing My Identity
March 20, 2007
It occurred to me sometime ago—likely in a drunken stupor—that it would be nice if I could license my identity, my personal identity, to others—namely illegal aliens or perhaps ex-cons—in exchange for a percentage of the wages they earn. It sounds really horrible and morally reprehensible but not really much different than the way most workers are treated by the companies and corporations they work for. And, after all, corporations have similar rights as individuals, why not allow individuals to have a kind of corporate identity that would give them legal working status under the corporation? I must admit, I’m no legal scholar, but then legality is merely another obstacle we must overcome when large profits are on the horizon!
